The goal of the trip is a peaceful and experience-filled return from Madrid back to Slovakia, with several interesting stops along the way.
The first significant stop will be the area around Bilbao in northern Spain, where we plan to watch the total solar eclipse, which will be visible in this part of the country on August 12.
Subsequently, the journey will continue towards Barcelona, from where we will take a ferry to Sardinia. We plan to spend about a week on the island, focusing on relaxation, exploring the coastline, nature, and the local atmosphere.
If the weather is favorable and we feel like extending the program, we can also include nearby Corsica in the itinerary.
The final part of the trip will lead back to the mainland, from where we will continue through Italy and Austria to Bratislava. The entire return is designed as a flexible road trip with an emphasis on a relaxed pace, interesting places along the way, and the possibility to adjust the plan according to current conditions.
