So, we can check off the experience of a “last-minute disaster.” 🙈🐾
Last night, Ibo started nervously shaking his head, scratching his ear, and reacting irritably to touch. It was clear that something was wrong.
First thing in the morning, we began searching for a suitable veterinary clinic on our way to the airport. We found one in the town of Guadalajara, a few kilometers before Madrid.
The doctor immediately suspected a foreign body in the ear canal. However, that would mean putting Ibo to sleep. Exactly what we didn’t want to hear just a few hours before our flight.
In the end, we decided to go through with it. And we did the right thing. After a few minutes of searching, the doctor pulled a splinter out of Ibo’s ear. Good job! 👏🌾
Now we’re facing a new dilemma. Ibo is just sleeping and sleeping after the anesthesia, and it seems he is once again leaving the responsibility for today’s expedition logistics exclusively to his people. 🐶💤✈️🌎
Keep your fingers crossed that our four-legged adventurer wakes up in his usual form before takeoff. 🤞🐾
EDIT: In the end, everything turned out well, and we successfully made it to Paraguay with Ibo.
