Describing ourselves in just a few sentences isn’t exactly easy, but I’ll give it a go…

Two former burnt-out corporate workers brought together by the start of COVID. Boris was just fulfilling a dream, buying a restaurant in the center of Bratislava. I was taking a break between jobs, having just returned from an ashram in India and wondering what to do next. We were both quite well-traveled, each in our own way—Boris adventurously, with diving and extreme skiing, and me more peacefully, with yoga. COVID might have clipped our wings, but we didn’t give up. Thanks to Boris, I discovered the Slovak mountains during the pandemic, and as soon as it was possible to travel abroad again, we packed our bags.

Our first major trip was Ecuador, Panama, Paraguay, and Brazil—that’s where our love story with South America began, and it’s still going strong…
And where does IBO, our Fox Terrier, fit into all this? I’d always wanted a dog and my dream was a Hungarian Vizsla. Boris’s family, on the other hand, had generations of Fox Terriers. During COVID, we often looked after Dashi, his mom’s dog, who hiked many of the Slovak mountains with us. Gradually, thanks in part to working from home, I realized it was the perfect time for a dog of my own. And that’s how IBO arrived (almost a Vizsla, but otherwise 100% Foxie). When I went to see the puppies, he was constantly climbing all over me and wouldn’t leave me alone—the decision was made… With his typical “foxy” personality, he complements us perfectly and we wouldn’t change him for anything. He’s our partner for life and for travel. 🐾

He’s been traveling with us almost everywhere since he was a puppy. We only used to leave him at home when we were flying. Being apart was always hard for us—endless thoughts about how he was doing, what he might be up to, whether he missed us… So we said enough is enough. Our travels took a clear direction: he’s coming with us everywhere, even on planes. And it was one of the best decisions we ever made 🙂.
