The first will be a tour of the northern part of the country, which we will start and end in Salta. The second part will be a flight to Buenos Aires, where we will spend our final days before returning to Europe.

From Salta, we will head north through the Calilegua National Park, the colorful Hornocal, and the remote Iruya. We will then continue to lesser-known places such as Lagunillas del Farallón and Laguna de Vilama, where a more adventurous high-altitude part of the trip will begin. Conditions permitting, we will attempt to summit Zapaleri, which lies in the border area of Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile.

The next part of the route will take us to Cerro Tuzgle, where we would like to combine an attempt to climb this volcanic peak with relaxation in the natural hot springs of Termas del Tuzgle. From there, we will continue on a challenging yet unique journey through the remote corners of the Argentine puna around Salar de Antofalla, Lago Peinado, and Laguna del Cóndor to the San Francisco Pass. This segment of the route will offer less-known yet beautiful views and will be one of the most adventurous parts of the entire trip. A bonus will be the opportunity to attempt to summit Nevado San Francisco, one of the most accessible peaks above six thousand meters in this part of the Andes.

On our return from the high-altitude areas, we will not miss Campo de Piedra Pómez, a unique field of light pumice rock formations created by volcanic activity and wind erosion. We will then gradually descend into the lower parts of the region, where we will enjoy a more relaxed pace, Argentine wine, and gastronomy in the areas of La Rioja, Cafayate, and Cachi. The conclusion of the tour will involve returning to Salta, or possibly taking an interesting detour if time permits.

After returning to Salta, we will fly to Buenos Aires. In the last days before our flight back to Europe, we will explore the city and its neighborhoods such as San Telmo, Palermo, Recoleta, and La Boca, enjoying the local gastronomy, cafés, markets, and the atmosphere of the Argentine capital.

["post-6903","travel_trip","type-travel_trip","status-publish","hentry","latest_post
["GET
